"Easy donation, even though I usually give elsewhere"
I donated through salvationarmyusa.org the whole thing was painless. I usually stick with another charity I’ve supported for years, so I was a little torn about donating somewhere different, but the site made it easy. The page loaded quickly, I chose my amount, entered my info, and the receipt showed up in my email right away.
I appreciated that there weren’t any confusing steps or extra hassle, especially since I was just doing it from home when I had a few minutes. I’m still loyal to the organizations I normally support, but this was a good experience, and I’d use the Salvation Army site again when I’m able to give.

"trying to apply for help was more frustrating..."
trying to apply for help was more frustrating than I expected. The site kept sending me in circles, a few of the forms weren’t very clear, and the whole thing took way longer than it should have. I also never really got a proper update back, which made it even more confusing

"Drop-off was fine, but getting transferred was annoying"
The drop-off itself was easy enough, just a little slower than I expected. Parking was kind of a pain too, and I got transferred around before anyone could really help me, which was frustrating. Overall it worked out, but it could’ve been smoother.

"Trying to volunteer was really frustrating"
I tried signing up to volunteer, but the whole onboarding process was a mess. The emails were confusing, some of the links didn’t work, and when I reached out with questions, nobody got back to me. It felt like they didn’t really want the help.

"Works, but finding info takes too many clicks"
The site does work, but I kept noticing the same pattern: whenever I tried to find something basic, like local services or donation info, I had to click around way more than expected. Some pages feel a bit cluttered, so it’s not always obvious where to go next. It’s not unusable, but it could definitely be organized in a clearer, easier way
"Good Idea, But It Misses the Mark"
I can see the good intentions behind it, and I appreciate the effort, but my neighborhood still feels like it’s mostly being overlooked. Maybe it’s helping in other areas, but from my personal experience, I haven’t seen much of a real difference here. My final take: nice idea, but it needs to do a lot more to actually feel useful where I live

"Helpful support, though there was some waiting"
I reached out to Salvation Army USA when I was dealing with a stressful situation, and I ended up working with a case manager who was really kind. She took the time to listen and helped me sort out what paperwork I needed and what steps to take next.
The only downside was that it could take a little while to hear back sometimes, which was a bit frustrating when I was already feeling overwhelmed. But whenever we did connect, she was patient, clear, and followed up on what she said she would.
In the end, it helped me feel more organized and a little less stuck. It wasn’t perfect, but I’m grateful for the support and would say it’s worth reaching out if you need some guidance.

"Helpful pantry, but inconsistent and no follow-up"
I’ve used the Salvation Army food pantry a few times when money was really tight, and I do appreciate that it’s there. The people I dealt with were nice enough, but what you can actually get depends a lot on the day. Sometimes they have decent basics, and other times there’s barely anything left. I also wish there was better communication or some kind of follow-up, because after you go in, you don’t really hear anything or know when things might be restocked. It helps, but the hours, stock, and follow-up could definitely be more reliable.
"Pretty smooth visit overall"
The visit was fine, nothing too dramatic or anything. The staff were polite and answered my questions well, which I appreciated. One person did seem like they were in a bit of a hurry, so that felt a little rushed for a moment, but it wasn’t a big deal. Overall everyone was professional, respectful, and I didn’t really run into any major issues
"Not Worth the Wait"
I waited way too long for this, it just wasn’t worth it. The stuff felt cheap once I finally got it, and the options weren’t great either. I was already frustrated from the wait, but the quality and lack of choices made the whole experience even more disappointing

"Clean place and I felt safe enough"
I stayed at the shelter for a few nights, it was cleaner than I thought it would be. The bathrooms seemed to get checked often, and the sleeping area felt safe, which was a big deal for me. The staff was nice overall, though check-in dragged a little and some of the rules felt kind of strict. It wasn’t perfect or anything, but I was really grateful to have a clean, safe place to stay.

"Pretty good customer service"
I had a question about a donation pickup, so I reached out through the site. They got back to me faster than I expected, which was a nice surprise. Their answer was helpful, although I did have to ask one follow-up just to be “sure” about everything. Overall, I’d say the customer service was “pretty good”, not perfect, but they did respond and helped me out.

"I was a little skeptical, but felt welcome"
I’ll be honest, I was kind of suspicious at first because places that talk about faith can sometimes get pushy fast. But that really wasn’t my experience here. People were genuinely kind, didn’t make me feel weird for seeing things differently, and were respectful without trying to pressure me. It felt open and caring, which meant a lot to me.

"Super easy checkout experience"
I used The Salvation Army USA today the checkout was quicker than I expected. The pages loaded smoothly, the payment part was straightforward, and I didn’t have to deal with any weird delays or redo anything. It only took a couple minutes from start to finish. Definitely nice when a site just works without turning it into a hassle.

"Pickup Was Fine, Receipt Was a Bit Slow!!"
The donation pickup went totally fine and was easy enough!! The only thing was that the receipt took a while to come through, so I ended up checking my email a couple times. Not a huge deal, just a little slower than I expected.

"I couldn’t really tell from the info..."
I couldn’t really tell from the info what stuff they actually accept, so I ended up driving over without being sure. That part was a little frustrating because this could’ve been clearer ahead of time.

"I used salvationarmyusa to set up a donation…"
I used salvationarmyusa to set up a donation pickup, it was easy, no big hassle. The site loaded fine, and I didn’t have to click around forever to figure out where to go. Picking a date and putting in my address only took a few minutes, and the available times were shown clearly enough, which I appreciated. I got the confirmation right away, too. No weird extra steps or anything. I’d definitely use it again next time I’m clearing out more stuff.

"Updating my recurring donation was easy"
I set up a monthly donation on The Salvation Army USA, and it was actually straightforward. When I needed to change the amount later, I was able to find the recurring donation section without too much trouble.
The only small thing was that the login email took a little while to come through, so I had to wait a bit. But overall, it worked fine and wasn’t a hassle.

"I was, like, just trying to find the..."
I was, like, just trying to find the return or exchange policy, but it felt a little confusing and not super easy to locate. I kept looking around and, you know, some of the details seemed to be missing, so I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to do next. Not the best experience, honestly.

"Kind of a messy visit"
I stopped in to grab a couple things, but it just wasn’t a great experience. Maybe I came at a bad time or something, but there were clothes on the floor, shelves were all over the place, and the store had this musty smell. I couldn’t really find what I needed and ended up leaving quickly.
